Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Stop Loss Finacial Coordinator to support our underwriting team. This role is heavily focused on Excel-based data management, quote processing, and coordination of underwriting files. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and thrive in a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities Quote Management: Manage the quote inbox by prioritizing incoming requests, meeting turnaround deadlines, and responding to inquiries related to quotes. Prepare and maintain Excel spreadsheets for quote data, which will be submitted to the underwriting intake team for further review. Customer Service: Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to troubleshoot issues and resolve concerns related to quote requests. File Management: Establish and maintain both electronic and hard copy underwriting files. Review documentation for completeness, request additional data as needed, and coordinate nurse reviews. Onboarding Support: Assist the underwriting team with processing new business and sold cases. Reporting: Support the preparation and maintenance of monthly reports. Required Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (critical requirement) including: Formulas (SUM, AVERAGE, IF, VLOOKUP) Pivot tables and data analysis Data entry and spreadsheet management Chart creation and reporting Strong communication and interpersonal skills (personality and conversational ability are key) High attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience Requirements 1+ years of professional experience with secondary education, OR 3–5 years of professional experience with a high school diploma Preferred Associate’s degree or higher Experience in financial services, insurance, accounting, or administrative coordination Industry Knowledge (Preferred) Exposure to Stop-Loss Insurance, which protects self-funded employers from catastrophic medical claims by reimbursing costs exceeding a set threshold Work Environment & Training Collaborative team of 11, including leadership and training support Initial onboarding includes one week of shadowing and hands‑on training Opportunity for remote work within Illinois, with optional hybrid flexibility Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
